For example: I am a single mother. I am an African American man. I am trans. I am an atheist. Even people who may seem similar have unique experiences that help to define them. While difference could be seen as a challenge, social workers have the opportunity to use difference to connect with their clients.

In this Assignment, you draft statements to define your personal identities and then reflect on how these identities might influence your social work practice. You also reflect on difference and the possibility for connection.
