Your specific project aims What is the goal of your practicum/capstone project? The topic of my quality improvement project is Reducing the Rate of Cesarean SecBons (C- SecBons). This project aims to idenBfy the factors contribuBng to the high rate of C-secBons and develop strategies to reduce unnecessary procedures, thereby improving maternal and neonatal outcomes. The focus will be on promoBng natural birth, enhancing paBent educaBon about the risks and benefits of C-secBons. I have discussed this topic with my preceptor. The need for this project arises from the increasing rate of C-secBons, which is a concern due to the associated risks such as infecBon, excessive bleeding, and longer recovery Bme for the mother. For this specific clinical unit, reducing the rate of C-secBons could improve paBent outcomes. It is important as nurses play a crucial role in the labor and delivery process. By focusing on reducing the rate of C-secBons, maternal and neonatal outcomes can be enhanced and improve paBent saBsfacBon. This unit has an iniBaBve to get c-secBons rate below 30%.
