Chickenpox is contagious viral disease that is characterized by a very red itchy rashes on the skin. The disease is very common but so contagious during the childhood. Similar to other herpesviruses, the Varicella zoster virus has the ability to persist in the body primary infection as a dormant infection in the sensory nerve ganglia where it has a short survival period in the environment. All Children should be vaccinated against chickenpox to avoid future contraction of the virus. Any individual who had not previously had infection or those who have not vaccinated are at risk of contacting the disease. Even adults, individuals who have weak immune systems, and adolescents are not excluded as they can be infected by varicella zoster virus. The literature research is very important to the readers since it enables them to understand more about the disease and with such knowledge, they are able to enlighten other members of the public. Therefore, this paper has been conceived to give more insight into the chickenpox disease by looking at the causes, symptoms, effects, treatment, prevention measures, and the emerging issues.
It is a very curcial concept to understand how the immune response is mounted against viruses, bacteria, protozoans and helminthes. For an effective immune response, both innate and adaptive immunity should work together.
