The ice bucket challenge was a social media sensation in the summer of 2014. It raised close to $100 million for ALS research (up to $2.6 million the year before). About 33,000 North Americans get ALS each year.

a) On average, North Americans donate about 2% of their income to charities each year. What is the likely effect of the ice bucket challenge on other charities each the Red Cross of the Hear foundation?
