CHIEF COMPLAINT: "My heart keeps beating fast" x 1 month History of present illness: Ms. Galloway is a 19-year-old college student who presents to the student Health Center because her heart has been beating too fast. This has been happening off and on for the past month. The episodes can occur from one to five times a day and last anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes. The episode seemed to be brought on by walking upstairs and drinking iced tea or caffeinated soda. She denies any association of these episodes with stress. She has limited her activities. During her encounter with the nurse practitioner at the Student Health Center, her vital signs were as follows: Temp: 97.6 Pulse: 110 Resp 16 02 sats 96% Pain level 2 Patient does not have any significant medical history; however, she has a significant family history of AFIB (mother) and grandmother CAD.
