Problem Statement:

Recruitment and selection are the most critical and significant human resources functions. Unless the organization has the best available employees, it will not be able to grow and flourish in the market. For an industry to survive and prosper in the economy, quality resources have to be utilized. The quality aspect is such an important element in picking up the right kind of human inputs to make IT industry success. An organization may have all of the latest technology and the best physical resources, but if it does not have the right people it will struggle to achieve the results it requires.

The activity of recruitment and selection takes care of the responsibility of the much needs of quality IT professionals. With this background, we realize that a study and analysis of the recruitment and selection process in the IT industry is a vital function of HRM in order to feed a company like Infosys with a quality workforce.

OBJECTIVES - 

The main objective of this study is to analyze and understand the process of recruitment and selection in Infosys and its impact on the organizational growth.

In addition to above primary objective, we will also analyze the following -

  1. To find out the drawbacks and problems regarding Recruitment and Selection procedure in Infosys.
  2. To study the recruitment model of Infosys and assess the effectiveness of the process.
  3. To find out the quality of the professionals hired
  4. To suggest suitable recommendations, if any, based on the findings.

SCOPE

This study covers the current scenario of recruitment & Selection procedure of Infosys. It will also analyze the factors taken into consideration at the time of recruitment, the depth and breadth of the content provided to support the recruitment and selection activities in Infosys.

METHODOLOGY

Primary data: The hurdles faced by the team in their organizations were also put together while writing this paper. Personal experiences and discussions with colleagues as well as  recruiters of consultancies lead to adding further details to this paper. 

Secondary data: The paper is also based on some secondary data. As we know secondary data consists of already compiled statistical statements and reports whose data may be used by the researchers for their studies. As the problem analyzed in this paper is an already prevalent issue for many organizations, therefore studies that have been conducted and multiple articles are published for the same were taken into account. Help was taken of these articles to better explain the issue chosen for this study.
