The data shown in the following table are from a matched-pair study conducted to determine whether a new experimental drug is effective against panic attacks. In each matched pair, one patient was given the experimental drug and the other patient was given a placebo daily for one week. Patients were instructed to record the number of panic attacks they experienced in the one-week period.
