Assessment Instructions

You have been assigned a major synovial joint of the body based on the first letter of the your first name on your Canvas profile.
To access your canvas profile click on the 'Account button in the top left of screen and then click 'Profile'. This will show you your exact name as it is in Canvas.
You will be doing your presentation on the hip joint (femoroacetabular joint).
PRESENTATION INSTRUCTIONS
You are required to record an audiovisual presentation on the anatomy of the joint you have been assigned. Your presentation should not exceed 4 minutes. You may choose to construct your presentation using Microsoft Powerpoint or a similar program such as Keynote. Or you may choose to use the Complete Anatomy app to demonstrate the anatomy of the joint. Your assignment must be submitted in English and your face must be recorded in the presentation.
Your presentation should cover the following elements:
• Title
• Introduction
• Bones and bony landmarks that participate in the joint
• Soft connective tissues of the joint
• Muscles that move the joint
Title:
You should begin your presentation with a title slide/element that includes:
• Which joint you are presenting
• Your full name
• Your student number
Introduction:
Your introduction should consist of 3 parts (see recorded tutorial for examples of each part):
1. Location - your should use anatomical
terminology to highlight the general location of the joint.
2. Structure - you should use medical terminology to highlight the general structure of the joint.
3. Function - you should use anatomical and medical terminology to highlight the general function of the joint.
Bones and bony landmarks:
This element of the presentation should see you highlight the exact bony landmarks that participate in the joint, as well as discussing the anatomy of these landmarks.
Soft connective tissues:
This element of the presentation should see you discuss the anatomy and/or function of the features of a synovial joint including the:
• Cartilage
• Any accessory joint structures includingone bursa that surrounds the joint
• Joint capsule
• One ligament of the joint
Muscle that moves the joint:
