Native American and Aztec Culture goes far beyond what can be covered in this unit. For this assignment, students will pretend to be a news reporter. This report will cover highlights of either the Native American or Aztec people groups. Below are a few options for this project:
Option 1: Record a video, reporting facts about either group.
~ Can include yourself and others (if desired)
~ Can be in the form of a newscast in a news station or an on-site report covering an event
Option 2: Record an audio clip, reporting facts about either group.
~ Can be in the form of a news broadcast or a play by play covering a live event
~ Other voices may help you if needed
Option 3: Use an avatar program to create a movie, reporting the facts about either group. Students can use an avatar program, or cartoon type program (i.e. GoAnimate, PowToon, etc.)
~ Can be an avatar video newscast or an avatar video of an event
Details to Include:
~ Information about the history of the people & culture (religion, social behavior, work habits)
~ A myth connected to the people group
~ Information about at least two major gods/goddesses
Students will present findings using one of the three options above. See the rubric in the sidebar for full details. When completed, submit the report to the appropriate dropbox.
