Homework: Business Finance- Management Client Call
Description
Financial Planners often build business through leads provided by their company's marketing department. Retail Banks will often forward client leads for current Retail Bank clients who fit the profile of a Financial Planning target client.
When Financial Planners receive the lead, they must reach out to the client identified in the lead to introduce themselves, their service, how the client can benefit from a relationship with the Financial Planner and to book an appointment for an introductory meeting.
Not everyone answers their phone-even if it is the "bank" calling. This means that a Planner often has to leave a message that includes a compelling reason for the client to call them back. A poorly crafted message will just be deleted by the client and the opportunity lost. An effective message can provide instant results and only needs to be about 30 seconds in length.
This homework focuses on your ability to leave a compelling voicemail to a client lead with the goal of introducing them to you, the Financial Planning offering and booking an introductory meeting with you.
Scenario:
You are a Financial Planner at Seneca Bank and are reviewing your list of client leads. You recognize that Mary Chan has $250,000 in investments with the bank and that she meets the asset threshold for the Financial Planning offering. (FPs typically have a minimum investment requirement of $100,000 of investible assets).
You think that Mary would see value in meeting with you and think that a Financial Planning relationship could offer her some sound financial advice and perhaps even save her some money. The challenge will be to find a time that Mary can meet with you as Mary is a busy IT professional.
Task
Record a voice mail message to client Mary Chan that introduces you to her, the Financial Planning service and offers her an introductory meeting to learn more about the benefits of working with you.
1. Your voice mail to the client should include key information including:
2. The client's name
3. Your name and Company.
4. Purpose of the call.
5. A brief description of how the client can benefit from your services.
6. Offer an Introductory Meeting to learn more about the benefits of working with you.
7. 2 potential dates and times for proposed meeting.
8. Your contact information.
