Data Visualisation Software
Your Task
Your individual task for this assessment is to independently analyse a provided dataset, creating an individualised dashboard and 1 page memo. In this assessment, your primary objective is to conduct a thorough analysis of a given dataset. Your challenge is to leverage your analytical skills to derive meaningful insights from the data.
Deliverables
This analysis will yield two primary outputs:
Interactive Dashboard: A visually compelling dashboard will present the findings in an easily understandable format. This will allow the Australian Sports Commission to explore data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Insightful Memo: A concise memo will summarise the most important insights discovered during the analysis, providing actionable recommendations for improvements in Australia's Olympic program.
Important
For this assessment, every student must arrive with their laptops and chargers, each equipped with either Power BI or Tableau installed and activated. Please note that no extra time will be provided during the class for software setup tasks. Therefore, students must prepare in advance, ensuring a smooth start to the assessment without any disruptions.
Your Dashboard:
If you used Power BI Desktop or Tableau Desktop:
Find the file you saved on your computer. It will have a .pbix (for Power BI) or
.twb (for Tableau) ending.
Go to MyKBS and look for the Dropbox specifically for this assignment.
Upload your dashboard file to the Dropbox.
If you used Power BI Online or Tableau Online:
Make sure your facilitator has access to view your dashboard (you'll need to add them as a user).
Find the option to generate a shareable link for your dashboard.
Copy that link and include it in your memo (see below).
Your Memo:
This is a separate document that you will create during the workshop.
