In chapter 5, the RESPECT approach to supervision is reporting, evaluation, services, planning, ethics, control, and teaching. For this discussion, focus on ethics. You are a supervisor working on a midnight shift. You are faced with two of your officers' constantly sleeping while at work. Officer A claims that he has family strains, small twins at home and as a result could not get enough sleep before his shift. The Officer B claims that he has financial issues and has to work an off duty detail in order to make ends meet. As a result, he does not get enough sleep before his shift. As the shift supervisor, other officers have brought this issue to your attention. Assuming the role of the supervisor, address the below questions.
