National Institute of Corrections The National Institute of Corrections provides specialized direct corrections training and resources to line staff, administration and researchers, and tribal, local, state, and federal corrections agencies. (National Institute of Corrections, 2023). The NIC provides training through its catalog of data-driven research.

The National Institute of Corrections has a database with research about Racial Disparities that Persist in Many U.S. Jails, structural racism, and the impact on incarcerated midlife women, to name a few. Many organizations conduct research; there may be biases on which research is allowed in the database. Bias can impact the client's population, especially in the correctional situation, because jurors or judges are biased towards individuals because of race. Furthermore, it affects their sentencing, life, and family for many generations.
