1. What was the impetus for Guatemalan and Central American immigration to Chicago? That is, what factors help explain why they immigrated to the United States and specifically Chicago? Be sure to comment not only on individual or family reasons for immigrating, but on larger political and economic forces at work that led to their immigrating to the United States.

2. How do the experiences of Guatemalans, Salvadorians and other Central Americans compare to those of Mexican and Puerto Rican immigrants/migrants to Chicago?
