Female patient who states she slipped and fell today. She landed on her right side and began having lower abdominal pain and bleeding. Abdomen showed tenderness to deep palpation mid-lower abdomen. Pelvic exam shows blood at the introitus. Also, blood in the vaginal vault. An abdominal ultrasound, abdominal x-ray, and lab work were ordered which were all negative. Patient with possible ruptured ovarian cyst or possible intra-abdominal injury. Will continue to watch patient on an outpatient basis to make certain no issues needing additional attention. Given prescription for pain medication until she is able to see her primary care physician for further follow-up.
