1. Read the Declaration of the Rights of Man, the Declaration of the Rights of Woman, and the excerpts provided from the Napoleonic Code. Then, write a response that answers the following questions: What strategies was Olympe de Gouges employing in her document to make her argument more convincing? Why did she target the institution of marriage as an important tool of women's oppression? How did she seek to change that institution?
