Case study: Tim is 45 years old, a little overweight and a little out of shape. He is invited to go waterskiing which he has done before but it's been a few years. He tries to water start and holds on as long as he can but is unable to stand up. He feels a sharp pain in the sural part of his right leg. He reaches down to rub it and realizes he is bleeding from this area. What layers of skin have been cut? which of these layers has a direct blood supply? How does the other layer receive the nutrients and get rid of wastes? Does skin form scar tissue? What will happen to this cut? How is scar tissue different from normal regenerative tissue?
