Listen to or read Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address" in the module. Lincoln could have easily of stood there on that great battlefield of over 50,000 dead and blamed the South. He didn't. He implored Americans to have a national reconciliation. He said it was our duty to these honored dead. What did Lincoln mean when he suggested the United States needed a "New Birth of Freedom"?
