Consider the following reaction between acetic acid and sodium hydroxide: NaOH + CH3COOH----------> NaCH3COO + H2O

a) Concentrated acetic acid is 17.4M. Suppose you obtain 5.00mL from this container and dilute it to 100. mL. What is the final molarity?

b) How many millimoles of acetic acid are present in your solution diluted from part a?

c) How many grams of solid NaOH are needed to prepare 500. mL of a 1.00M NaOH solution?

d) Calculate the volume in mL of the 1.00M NaOH solution would be necessary to neutralize the acetic acid prepared in part b.
