In the striking of a match, energy is supplied in the form of striking. The reactant, KClO3, potassium chlorate on the match head is struck with P4, on the match box. Thus, this reaction begins only after a collision between the reactants. So this is an endothermic reaction, and most reactions occur when two reactants collide with each other.
