Assume that you release a small ball from rest at a depth d below the surface in a pool of water and the ball rises and because the ball emerges from the water it shoots up a distance 3d above the water. If the drag force on the ball from the water is negligible, what is the ratio of the density of the ball to the density of water? (Neglect any transfer of energy to the splashing and waves produced with the emerging ball and suppose that you are near the surface of the Earth.)
