The ratification of the 13th, 14th and 15th Constitutional Amendments marked a turning point in the history of the United States.

Why were the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments were able to be passed by Congress? What circumstances lead to Congress being able to pass these amendments. Think about what's going on in in the US and government at the time each of these amendments were passed & ratified. Be sure consider what's happened prior to the passing of these amendments, in the early years of reconstruction and at the time these amendments were ratified.
