When the world wide web was invented in 1991, nobody could have predicted the rapid growth in the production of technological devices and users. To put this in perspective, in 1984 there were about a million devices connected across the globe. Presently, there are more than 6 billion and growing. The rapid expansion of the internet of things (IoT) along with cell phones, social media, and smart homes has had some strong ethical and legal implications. Many of our privacy and wire tapping laws date back before the web and are still working to catch up. How do you think that technology, ethics, and legal principles are going to clash in the future?
