Pastor Poloy was charged with several counts of rape committed on several women on different dates. During pre-trial, the cases were consolidated that Poloy agreed to the use of judicial affidavits as direct examination of the witnesses. Before the prosecution could present its evidence, Poloy submitted a judicial affidavit admitting the acts alleged in the Informations. He affirmed said affidavit in court and the prosecution also cross-examined him. To give the judge sufficient time to study the record to determine mitigating circumstances, promulgation was set the following week. Before promulgation, Poloy filed a motion to withdraw his affidavit as after fasting and prayer, god told him that he was forgiven and said forgiveness wiped all of his sins.
