Discussion including conclusions and tentative recommendations. 6. Reflections on content and processes. 7. References. 8. Indicative content
Issues to be covered include:
• the political, organisation and individual issues that impact on inter-professional collaboration and how these impact on the delivery of services to service users.
• relevant historical & contemporary legislation & social policy
• key theoretical perspectives and practice frameworks (models and methods) across a range of disciplines
• inter-professional ethical working and social justice
• the tension across agencies between social control and respect for diversity, equality, dignity and privacy.
• inter-professional assessment of need, risk and resilience related to prevention and intervention within socio-cultural contexts, individual differences and crisis and uncertainty
• experience and impact on service users of inter-professional working
• inter-professional and organisational structure, policy, procedures and implications
• exploration of individual and cultural attributes and difference (social and emotional intelligence; organisational cultures)
Modes of delivery and student participation:
Multi-model modes of delivery - on campus workshops, use of VLE, student group presentations, tutorial groups and exemplars of good practice. In time this module will be delivered by a blend of on campus and distance learning methods Teaching, learning and assessment. This is a 300 hour module made up of distance learning, workshops, interactive experiences via the VLE and self directed agency based learning. Assessment will be summative with formative feedback via online activities supported by the VLE.
Students are asked to set up a ‘Collaborative Inquiry Group' to look at the degree of collaborative practice achieved within one aspect of their service delivery. Students are asked to search the literature around their identified topic and subsequently plan, implement and evaluate a collaborative inquiry, attending to both process and outcomes.
