Question: I think "Your Words Have Power. Use Them Wisely" is asserting itself as 'true' because as we look as the child being choked with unkind words and tears fall down his face, it touches ones heart. It reminds me of how when I was younger and wasn't a great communicator how I felt choked with my own words, never having felt that pain before and not knowing what to say. That hand around the boy's throat is a lot like that. We assume everyone has received negativity or hurtful words, so much that they can empathize and put themselves in the child's shoes. I believe the design contributes to 'forced silence', as sometimes when it comes to mental health, we can't freely speak out, or it's hard to. Some people suffer in silence, 'choked' by hurtful words. I would paraphrase this piece as, "not every pain is physical". I believe this message is important because I am a big advocate for mental health, and to be able to take care of ourselves physically, we must be able to take care of our minds. 2. "Same War, Different Day" is directed towards those who have truly lived and endured hardship/pain in the world. We can believe this statement as true, because everyday is a battle to survive whether it be to get through the long day, finding basic necessities, or the struggle with mental health. Assuming that the audience is the 'average joe', lower/middle class, non-white, etc. While when we think war we think guns and death, wars and battles can still be fought by words and actions, and by way of life. Whether it be poverty or racism that the artist is referring to. Not all battles have soldiers dressed in green, sometimes, like in the background you can see a face of a woman peaking through. I would paraphrase this as "not all battles to be fought have soldiers on the frontlines" (it sounds quite poetic to me). I believe this message is importance to help raise awareness and importance of the battles we have within our own boarders. While all attention may be placed on wars in other countries, we must not forget what's happening on the inside of our walls and what our struggles are.
