United States should use tariffs and quotas to restrict foreign competition for business. Although with free trade, it benefits the consumer by making available a wide variety of low-cost high-quality goods and services, nations are using their scarce resources in the best way possible. But on the other hand, tariffs and quotas in the United States were established to control the amount of goods that enter into the United States. Trade restrictions can help protects American producers, making it more likely for American consumers to purchase American-made products as those restrictions increase the cost of imported products. Protect infant industries so they can thrive and develop. And it also prevent industries from selling emerging technology to our trade partners. The United States should use tariffs and quotas to protect the United States interests economically while still maintaining the healthy trading relationship with other countries.
