Question1

An electron is a subatomic particle that is subject to electric forces. An electron moving in +x direction accelerates from an initial velocity of +5.40 x 10^5 m/s to a final velocity of +2.10 x 10^6 m/s as travelling a distance of 0.038m. The electron's acceleration is due to 2 electric forces parallel to the x axis: F1 = +7.50 x 10^-17 N, and F2, which points in -x direction. Find out magnitudes of

(a) Net force acting on the electron and

(b) Electric force F2.

Question2

A beam of parallel rays from a 29 MHz citizens band radio transmitter passes between two electrically conducting (thus opaque to radio waves) buildings located 60m apart. What is angular width of the beam while it emerges from between buildings?

Question3

Points A and B have electric potentials of 291 V and 129 V, in that order. As an electron released from rest at point A arrives at point C its kinetic energy is KA. When electron is released from rest at point B, though, its kinetic energy when it reaches point C is KB = 4KA.
