MARKET SEGMENTS
A monitor and a projector are described as a seat. They are used in two main environments: enterprise and home entertainment. InFocus plans to transport 2,500,000 projectors to the market in the next three years. The home entertainment market is just beginning. The key focus of this sector is licensing.
Around 1.400,000 projectors were delivered to the company demonstration industry in 2001 and the estimated increase in 2007 was 4.500,000. Further divided in (1) the existing basis and (2) the potential expansion, is the demand for business presentation:
1. Using 2001 projector shipments the built basis is determined. This offers a cautious evaluation of a built-in projection device, when beneficiaries are not expected to upgrade their projectors for a few years. The upgrade kits target this business segment.
2. The prediction of projected growth is based on the projections for 2002 and beyond. These transfers replace the additional built-in base not covered in our installed base calculation as well as rise in the demand for presentation systems. This business segment is directed at licensing and updating kits first.
Note that projected development and base projections installed are purposely simplified to help the calculations. However, we take into account that upgrade kit sales will rise and maximum about four to five years and at the same time, we will hit 20 to 30 percent only of this installed base of 1,400,000 units before the start. It is true that some "new data are actually replacing "installed base" and we do so, particularly when we reach four to five years ago
Brilliant Points technical features in the presentation seat include the addition, for a combined ($200 to $400) gross (small portion of device and projector costs combined ($500 to $30,000), of an optical pointer (around $50) and of Brilliant Points software (around $50 of $150) to a high quality webcam. In our view, this enhancement approach is easily accepted into current presentation seats due to the low marginal costs of updating and major change.
We trust that companies can see our technologies used in the industry to acquire Brilliant points technology.
