As stated in the assignment brief you have been provided with a report and data for an engineering organisation that either manufactures engineering products or provides an engineering service.
This information being the 2016 half year results presentation, of Balfour Beatty PLC, which includes certain forward -looking terminology such as estimates, plans, targets, aims, expects, etcetera. All of which are in the public domain and are made in good faith by the company based on the information available as at the date of the 2016 half year results announcement.
As stated in Task 1 you are to investigate the quality standards that engineering organisations use to demonstrate that they have quality systems in place referring to ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families of standards.
You should also use this information as the basis from which you can carry out a value analysis exercise.
The activity to be looked at is electrical switchgears, which are one of many products made by Balfour Beatty.
