Question

The Department of Healthcare Services is an entity that aims to facilitate equitable access to quality healthcare for all individuals in the community. This includes medical, dental, mental health services, substance-abuse disorder treatment, and long-term care (Department of Health Care Services, n.d.). Community health nurses can work with the local Department of Healthcare Services to have representatives on-site at pop-up wellness clinics who are able to provide information and assistance on registering for healthcare benefits. In developing a multi-disciplinary approach, healthcare comes to the community rather than the individual having to navigate what can oftentimes be a complex process to find information on where to go to register for healthcare benefits, which forms need to be filled out, etc.
