The PDF drawings listed below are available on the VLE and should be used for Task 1. The estimating data for unit rate pricing is included in the appendix.

The drawings included are for the purpose of developing measurement skills only.

• D1006-10 Wing Plan and Section A-A.
• D1006-2 Wing layout details
• D1006-3 Elevations.

• Forming cavity
• Cavity insulation
• Block wall inner skin
• Internal 100mm block wall partition, height excluding slab and hardcore thickness
• Gyproc Wallboard duplex to Block wall inner skin
• Painting to the Block wall inner skin.

Internal block wall partition:
The measurement of internal 100mm block wall partition should include deductions for all internal door openings.

External cavity walls:
The dimensions shown includes the thickness of the separating cavity wall where the wing meets the core.
The measurement of external cavity wall components, Gyproc Wallboard duplex and painting to the block wall inner skin should include the deduction of all window openings.
Ignore the measurement of door openings to the separating cavity wall for all measurements.

Your submission must include the following documents relevant to the items required to be measured:

a. Marked up drawings;
b. A take-off list;
c. Query and assumption sheet;
d. Dimensions in the traditional format on dimension paper;
e. Produce unit rates for the two items of construction works below:
• The external half brick outer skin;
• Block wall inner skin.
f. Use the unit rates for these items to produce a priced Bill of Quantities to complete the tender process.

Specifications for Measurement:

• Half brick outer skin brickwork, £750.00 per thousand delivered to site, laid in stretcher bonds; cement mortar mix 1:3
• 100mm wide cavity including 5 nr stainless steel wall ties per m2.
• 50 mm DriTherm cavity insulation
• 100mm lightweight concrete blocks inner skin 3.5kN in cement mortar 1:3
• 100mm internal walls in lightweight concrete blocks 3.5kN in gauged mortar 1:1:6.
• Pre-finished 12.5mm Gyproc Wallboard duplex 2400 x 1200mm square edge fixed to Block wall inner skin, with Knauf gypsum-based plasterboard Adhesive.
• 2 coats emulsion paint applied to 12.5mm Gyproc Wallboard duplex.

Task 2 (word count: 600 words)
