1. Start Word and create a new document.
2. Type your letter as shown in the figure below (attached).
3. Start Excel and open Soccer Fundraising.xlsx, a data file for this exercise.
4. Select cells A3 through B8, the data for the fundraising events.
5. On the Home tab, click Copy. A dashed rectangle scrolls around the data.
6. On the Taskbar at the bottom of your computer screen, click the Word icon to switch back to your Word document.
7. Place the insertion point in the second blank paragraph, if necessary.
8. On the Home tab, click Paste. The spreadsheet data is pasted into the Word document. Notice the Paste Options button near the lower-right corner of the pasted data.
9. Click Paste Options and then click Link & Use Destination Styles. The data is formatted as a table.
10. Point to the column border on the left of Profit and then double-click when you see the double-headed arrow pointer. The column is sized to best fit.
11. Click in the cell containing the profit amount. Drag to select $8,065 and then bold it.
12. Place the insertion point in the blank paragraph after the table and press Enter.
13. Type the following: "This chart helps you see how each event impacted total sales:"
14. Press Enter twice.
15. On the Taskbar, click the Excel icon to switch back to the spreadsheet.
16. Press Esc to remove the selection from the copied data.
17. Click the chart area to select the pie chart.
18. On the Home tab, click Copy.
19. Switch back to the Word document and then click Paste. The chart is pasted into the document using the destination theme colors.
20. Click Paste Options. The default option uses the destination theme and links data.
21. Drag a corner handle to reduce the chart size.
22. With the chart still selected, on the Home tab, click Center to center-align the chart.
23. Point to the table and then click the Table Move Handle to select the entire table.
24. On the Home table, click Center to center-align the table.
25. Save the document, naming it Soccer Fundraising. Your letter should look similar to the figure below.
26. Switch to Excel and then close the spreadsheet.
27. A last minute cash donation came in. Right-click the table and then click Linked Worksheet Object > Edit Link. The Excel spreadsheet linked to the data is displayed in a window.
28. Switch to the Word document. Both the value in the table and the chart have been automatically updated because they're linked to the Excel spreadsheet.
29. Save and then close the Excel window. Note that the Word document displays the new value in the table and the updated chart.
30. Left-align the second blank paragraph and type the new text shown in the figure. Then press Enter twice so that your letter looks similar to the figure.
31. Start Access and open Any Town Soccer League.accdb, a data file for this exercise.
32. Open the Coaches table.
33. Point your mouse to the upper-left area of the Reese entry. When your pointer changes to a solid white cross, drag to select all the coaches' first and last names, titles, and their teams.
34. On the Home tab, click Copy.
35. Switch to the Word document.
36. Place the insertion point in the second blank paragraph after the "We want to..." sentence.
37. On the Home tab, click Paste. The Access data is pasted as a Word table.
38. Reduce the top and bottom margins until the entire document fits on a single page. (Change the top and bottom margins to approximately 0.6".)
39. Click the Table Move Handle to select the entire table. On the Table Tools Design tab, click the More button in the Table Styles group and then click Grid Table 4 - Accent 3.
40. Save the letter. Your document should look similar to the figure below.
41. Close the Word file.
42. Close the Excel spreadsheet.
