The live band was to play from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The band is an up-and-coming pop cover band and perfect for the crowd at the wedding The wedding date was March 4, 2024. The signed contract was for $8,500. A deposit of $4,500 was paid. The day before the wedding, Jack, the band's lead singer, called and said they had an audition in Toronto on the wedding date and may not get there in time to start at 6 p.m. He would send his friend DJ Blaze to play music until they arrived. DJ Blaze arrived late on the wedding day and set up the DJ equipment around 7 p.m. Unfortunately, the only music he played was rap and disco. DJ also brought a few friends to the wedding and took many smoking and drinking breaks with them. No music was played during breaks, and he would not accept any music requests from guests. David Carter had asked if DJ Blaze had any communications with Jack about when they would arrive at the wedding. The answer was "no." The DJ and his friends were joking around when they bumped into the wedding cake, causing it to fall. It was ruined and could not be consumed. At that point, DJ Freddy packed up and left the venue.
