Psychology and Human Behavior Homeopathic medicine is based on the theory that the body has the ability to heal itself. However, homeopathic health practitioners do use pills or liquids with a small amount of an active ingredient to treat diseases. These treatments are loosely regulated, and homeopathic practitioners hold various degrees. A random sample of homeopathic practitioners was obtained in the United States and Canada and the academic degree of each was recorded. The data are summarized in the following table.
