Question: A human-machine system "is a system that involves an interaction between people and other system components, such as hardware, software, tasks, environments, and work structures. The system may be simple, such as a human interacting with a hand tool, or it may be complex, such as an aviation system or a physician interacting with a complex computer display that is providing information about the status of a patient" (Czaja & Nair, 2012, p. 38).
A computer system is utilized daily in schools, homes, and workplace. Microsoft created the Windows operating system in the mid-1980s. There have been many different vers Windows, but the most recent ones are Windows 10 (released in 2015), Windows 8 (2012), Windows 7 (2009), and Windows Vista (2007). Windows comes pre-loaded on most new PCs, which helps to make it the most popular operating system in the world.
The operating systems were designed to run on desktop and laptop computers. Mobile devices such as phones, tablet computers, and MP3 players are different from desktop and laptop computers, so they run operating systems that are designed specifically for mobile devices. Examples of mobile operating systems include Apple iOS and Google Android. The issues or concerns that I have with computer systems are the fears of hacking, security breaches, and the overloading of computer drives causing loss of valuable information. There are no guarantees of a safe security system, and for this reason it is imperative to have back up files for important data. For example, today, I worked on an audit with newly installed software, and I saved my audit. The entire system crashed and it took the IT department hours to locate my files.
Any thoughts?
