Assignment 1: Case study

Assignment Details: Students are given a case study on areas related to organisation development. Students are to analyse the case by providing an overview of the case, problems and challenges confronting the organisation. In the case study, students are to provide the SWOT analysis. Recommendations proposed are to be supported with justifications.

Assignment 2: Poster

Assignment Details: Students are to design a poster reflecting their area of research that is within the ambit of organization development (OD). The areas selected can be organization change, performance management, workplace diversity and performance management in public sector.

The poster should cover the following items: title of research, objective of research, data collection and analysis, findings and implications. The focus of attention should be on subject content. The layout of the poster, among others, should be consistent with headings and sub- headings, font and size are standardised. Use bulleted list to facilitate reading. Relate the content to the pictures it describes. The use of fancy fonts is to be avoided.

Submitting assessments - All written assessments are to be submitted via the Unit site on the Online Learning System (OLS)by the due date and time given in the Assessment Overview. Unit lecturers will provide instructions and in-class demonstration of the submission process prior to the due date for the first assessment in the Unit. Students who experience technical issues when attempting to submit their assignment via the OLS should immediately contact technical support or the website for assistance (see Section 5.2, Technical Support). Vivas, examinations and presentations must be attended as scheduled, unless by prior arrangement due to exceptional circumstances (see Section 4, Policies). Late submission of assessments - Written assessments that are submitted after the due date and time published in this Unit of Study Guide will receive a penalty of 10% of the maximum available mark per working day.
