Assignment -

Question 1 - A group of researchers was interested in understanding the relationship between work satisfaction [dependent variable] and education [ranges between -20 years], satisfaction with financial situation, annual family income, and occupational prestige score. They use General Social Survey 2016 dataset. Below is the descriptive statistics for these variables:

Codes:

Work Satisfaction Scale 1-4; 1=Very Satisfied 4= Not satisfied at all

Satisfaction with Financial Situation 1=Satisfied, 2= More or less satisfied, 3= Not satisfied at all.

[Occupational] Prestige Score: Scale 0-100, the higher the value the higher the prestige the respondents' occupation has.

Use the correlation matrix below and provide a statistical write-up [use the model write-up from the lecture slides] for each pair of variables [a total of 5 pairs using the work satisfaction as the dependent variable].

Question 2 - The researchers seek to further explain the relationship between work satisfaction and highest educational degree the respondent earned. Do people with higher education degrees also have higher work satisfaction? The results of ANOVA test are listed in attached file.

a) State the hypotheses for this test

b) State the decision rule and explain why

c) Provide a statistical write-up, including the Tukey's test results.

Question 3 - The researchers also want to explore whether marital status can explain respondent's satisfaction with their finances. By using the independent samples t-test results in attached file,

a) State the hypotheses for this test.

b) State the decision rule and explain why.

c) Provide a statistical write-up.

Note - All tables are in attached file. Please follow the instruction to write the Q1 and Q2 explanation.
