Problem: Whenever Joey's mom leaves the room, he cries and she comes back and attends to him. Joey's therapist has determined the behavior to be maintained by attention from his mother. As an intervention, Joey's mom gives him continuous access to high-quality attention for 20 continuous minutes prior to leaving the room and his in-home therapist is prompting him to appropriately request attention from his mom when she leaves.
