Will the person who reads your job application materials be an expert in your area who wants to see how much you know or a business manager who needs you to write simply? I will be applying for a position that is currently not filled at the Chamber of Commerce in Hendersonville, so the person who will be reading my job application is likely to be a business manager who is only looking for particular skills I have. Will the employer expect you to write formally and politely or directly and straightforwardly or some other way? I would be applying for a formal position under people I have never met, so I would be expected to write formally and politely but also be clear with my intentions within the company. What job requirements is the employer looking for that you need to make sure to discuss? The job would require me to: be responsible for all aspects of special events: planning, implementation, sponsorship recruitment, and future event development. Assure efficient, effective, and profitable non-dues revenue-related Chamber events, and provide customer service to chamber members and the community at large. So it would be very important for me to discuss these topics/skills on my resume.
