Question: Surveys of Latinos show that many in the Latino community have perceptions of discriminatory treatment. Among all Latinos, approximately 24% say they are treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. Yet, only 8% of 1st generation noncitizens say they have been discriminated against because of the color of their skin. At the same time, nearly 21% of 2nd+ generation citizens note feelings of discrimination due to the color of their skin. Provide an argument explaining this discrepancy in perceptions of discrimination. Be sure to describe the role of generational status in your argument.
