(1)Provide an analysis of the phonology of the "M prefix" that we have learned in class. This is the prefix that, so far, has the shapes [m?], [m?m], [m?n], [m??]. You may write your analysis in terms of rules and derivations or constraints and tableaux. Your analysis will consist of two parts: (a) an Underlying Representation for the prefix, and (b) phonological rule(s) or constraints.

(2) Then show how your analysis works by giving a derivation or tableau for these words: [m?mbaca] (from [baca]), [m?lihat] (from [lihat]), [m?nulis] (from [tulis]).

(3) Let's assume there are verbs that start with a vowel. For example [abala]. What would be the form of this word with the M prefix add, if you apply your rules precisely and automatically (without guessing as to what you imagine the pronounciation should be)?
