Question: The author Nick Ladany, article on this unknown first-gen students, argues that first-generation students frequently encounter difficulties they are unaware of, such as how scholarships and grants operate or what college costs represent. The main takeaways from this reading are that first-generation students frequently don't feel comfortable disclosing their status Additionally, he talks about how organizations are doing a better job of supporting first-generation students, but that stigma reduction still has to be worked on. Furthermore, according to Nick Ladany, it's critical to ensure that first-generation kids are aware that it's okay not to know everything and that they may seek assistance when necessary. Finally, he stresses the significance of helping first-generation kids succeed by normalizing the unfamiliar.
