Select a nursing-related issue that interests you and that you would like to advocate for.
Research the issue and its history.
Task
In a minimum of 700 words, write a paper in which you:
Question A. Define the issue you would like to advocate for.
Question B. Include context of the issue.
Question C. Indicate who is being impacted by the issue.
Question D. Provide a history of the issue and its current status.
Question E. What issues are being addressed through this advocacy work?
Question F. What is the goal of this advocacy? Is it clear?
Question G. What progress has been made up to the present time? What progress must still happen?
Question H. In regard to the advocacy work that has already been done, what was effective? What could have been improved?
Question I. Who did this form of advocacy reach or not reach?
Question J. What changes resulted from this advocacy?
Question K. Evaluate what can be learned from the efforts of past advocates.
Question L. Determine the leadership skills and styles that you would need to have to be an effective advocate.
I. Criterion I: Define the nursing issue you would like to advocate for. Include the setting and indicate who is being impacted.
II. Criterion II: What issues are being addressed through this advocacy work and is the goal of this advocacy clear?
III. Criterion III: Provide a history of the advocacy work. Evaluate what can be learned from the efforts of past advocates and what progress must still happen?
IV. Criterion IV: Determine and explain the leadership skills and styles that you would need to have to be an effective advocate.
V. Criterion V: Include at least 4 resources which are peer-reviewed and current (published since 2017). Sources from ".com" sites will unlikely be peer-reviewed.
