In this assignment you will review current scholarly articles and provide a critical evaluation of the studies by creating a synopsis of your findings.
Tasks: Find an analyze two scholarly journal articles from the (South University Online Library). Pick two different disorders from GAD, PTSD, or OCD. Scholarly articles are also referred to as primary sources or peer-reviewed articles. Each article must have been published within the past five years. Other sources such as the text (other than supporting citations) wikipedia, and other online sources will not be accepted.

In a 2- to 3-page Microsoft word document 12- point Times New Roman font, create a synopsis by addressing the following:
1. Provide a summary for each article.
2. Describe the main parts discussed in each article and how they relate to this weeks course and textbook readings.

Course and textbook readings state: Generalized Anxiety disorder (GAD), individuals suffering from GAD experience free-floating anxiety on a continual basis. According to sociocultural theorist, GAD is most likely to develop in individuals who face threatening societal conditions. research suggest that individuals living in stressful or threatening environments have higher rates of GAD. Worrying is one of the major causes of GAD.
Cognitive therapy is the most effective treatment for GAD. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is another common disorder that has recently received much media attention. The essential feature of PTSD is the development of a cluster of stress-anxiety symptoms in reaction to a traumatic event that may lead to PTSD include military combat, personal assault, kidnapping, natural disasters,and even automobile accidents.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), the fundamental symptom of this disorder is the presence of intrusive thoughts, image, and/or impulses. Additionally, due to the emotional distress caused by the intrusive thoughts, images, and/or impulses, the individuals compelled to perform some type of ritual to(a) reduce the resulting emotional distress (e.g. anxiety and disgust) and (b) decrease the likelihood of acting out the thought/images/impulses.
Many individuals with OCD have both obsessions and compulsions, additionally, they are typically are aware that their rituals are non productive but struggle to not engage in them.
