Protection within an OS

Protection refers to a mechanism for controlling the access of programs, processes, or users to the resources defined by a computer system. There are many different hardware and software systems within a computer that require protection.

A general model of protection for a system can be viewed as an Access Matrix. There are many mechanisms implementing an Access Matrix, which include the capability list.

Select one such internal system and describe a scenario for which a capability list is an appropriate solution for protection. Also explain how it relates to the access matrix.
