According to the Baltimore City department of public works report, its city water is one of the top 10 safest in the country according to the consumer confidence report (CCR) in 2020 (Baltimore City Department of Public Works). Regardless of this ranking, this water quality is not 100% pure; therefore, there is room for improvement. This will entail conserving water bodies that supply water to the region (Baltimore City Department of Public Works). The US government has enacted several policies to protect water bodies, especially against pollution from factories and other sources. One such policy is the clean water act. Environmental conservation of water bodies to provide clean drinking water has been compromised by increased water pollution levels coupled with climate change that has resulted in the drawing of major freshwater rivers.
