I've had the opportunity to work with many emerging technologies used in criminal and intelligence capacities.
Many tool to include those I have worked with are equipped with a mechanism that increases information sharing, information storage, and equipment efficiency (Purdue Global, 2018). Peer two Technology and tools play a pivotal role in the criminal justice field, offering advancements in investigations, crime prevention, and officer safety (La Vigne, 2020). These tools encompass a wide array of devices, ranging from sophisticated surveillance systems and forensic equipment to communication devices and data analysis software.
For a local police officer, the most valuable tools include body-worn cameras, mobile data terminals, and advanced communication systems. Body-worn cameras serve to document interactions with the public, providing crucial evidence and enhancing accountability (White, 2014). Mobile data terminals allow access to real-time information, aiding in rapid decision-making and improving situational awareness. Advanced communication systems facilitate coordination among officers, resulting in quicker response times and enhanced efficiency (Cordner, 2021).
These tools promote efficiency by streamlining processes and reducing manual paperwork. They enhance transparency by providing an objective record of events and actions taken by officers. Additionally, they contribute to accountability by ensuring that officers adhere to established protocols and guidelines (Braga et al., 2019).
