Part 1: Infographic
Imagine you are the technology coach at your school and the principal has asked you to prepare both visual and video resources about synchronous and asynchronous learning that can be shared with teachers, students, and parents/guardians.
Research tools for creating infographics and select one to make an infographic that contains the following:.
Synchronous and asynchronous learning pros and cons.
Teacher tips for effective planning, delivering, and managing instruction in the synchronous and asynchronous environments. At least one tip should address how each environment can be designed to accommodate for learner variability.
Student tips for how to be a successful student in a synchronous and asynchronous learning environment. Include tips that foster student agency and promote a healthy balance in their use of technology.
Parent/guardian tips for how to support their students in a synchronous and asynchronous learning environment.
Part 2: Coaching Videos
Your principal has also asked you to create videos that can be shared with teachers, students, and parents/guardians so they clearly understand the differences between synchronous and asynchronous learning and ways to be successful in both classroom environments.
Create video key points targeted toward teachers, and a second video key points targeted toward students and parents/guardians in your current grade range or the grade range (K-3, 4-8, 9-12) in which you are most interested in working.
Videos should utilize the infographic completed in Part 1 of the assignment.
The teacher-focused video should include explanations of the pros and cons of synchronous and asynchronous learning and should highlight teacher tips for managing instruction in both environments and accommodating for learner variability.
The student and parent/guardian-focused video should include explanation of the parent tips and an explanation of student tips that are age appropriate for the selected grade range. Include an opening sentence that clarifies the target audience (i.e., As students at XBC elementary/middle/high school....).
