Pros and cons of filing a discrimination action

Class, what are some of the "pros" and "cons" of filing a discrimination action, if you are the one being discriminated against or harassed? Is filing with the EEOC worth it? Typically, these cases can drag out 2-5 years! YEARS! Some can go on for 5-7 years and then they still aren't completed. They typically include appeal after appeal of minute issues which don't pertain to the facts...and when they finally get heard, all of the witnesses have forgotten everything, the evidence is gone, and most everyone is just sick of it. So....what do you say? Let's list some pros and cons...and when you would "file" and when you would cut your losses and find a better place to work....I'm listening! Does the size of your town make a difference in your decision here too?
